Sansho dayu (released in the U.S. in 1955 as: "Sansho the Bailiff" and "Legend of Bailiff Sansho", and in England as "Sansho dayu [Sansho the Bailiff]"), the 1954 Kenji Mizoguchi Japanese medieval melodrama ("A film of unparalleled beauty by the great Japanese Master Kenji Mizoguchi") starring Kinuyo Tanaka, Yoshiaki Hanayagi, Kyoko Kagawa, Eitaro Shindo (in the title role as Sansho), and Akitake Kono
