The stills in this lot have a MOST unusual origin. They were found in a Texas movie theater in 1972, when the theater was being torn down. There were stills glued to boards that were displayed on one of the walls of the theater. Our consignor "rescued" these stills (and others, which we are auctioning in other bulk lots) by cutting them from the board. The stills have been trimmed (see our images). Obviously, the new owner of these could have them removed from the heavy boards they are glued to, or one could display them as they are. Either way, bear in mind this unusual defect BEFORE bidding on this lot of stills. Of course, This Modern Age is the 1931 Nick Grinde Paris France romantic mother/daughter family relationship melodrama ("She followed in the footsteps of her lovely mother!"; about a woman who was raised by her father after her parents' divorce, but then she goes to Paris to live with her estranged mother, which raises eyebrows among her friends) starring Joan Crawford, Pauline Frederick, Neil Hamilton, Monroe Owsley, and Hobart Bosworth. Measurements: 7 1/2" x 9 1/2"Condition: fair to good. Many years ago, the stills were trimmed and each glued to a heavy board (see above). No one has performed any restoration, but it could be done, or they could be displayed as they are. However, bear in mind these defects before bidding.
