Morocco, the classic 1930 Josef von Sternberg (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) military French Foreign Legion doomed romance romantic love triangle adventure melodrama (Cooper is a man who ran off to join the French Foreign Legion to escape his past, and he meets French saloon singer Marlene Dietrich, and they fall madly in love, but their romance is ill-fated) starring Gary Cooper, Marlene Dietrich (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Adolphe Menjou, Ullrich Haupt, Eve Southern, and Francis McDonald. Note that both Gary Cooper and Marlene Dietrich were at the height of their fame when they made this movie, and they worked wonderfully together! Also note that in this movie, Dietrich is sometimes dressed in men's clothes and has a passionate kiss with another woman! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
