An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Jailhouse Rock, the classic 1957 Richard Thorpe rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) crime prison romantic musical ("His first big dramatic singing role!"; about a young man who is sent to prison for manslaughter, and while there he is helped to become a singer/musician by an older convict, and after he is released, he becomes a major rock star!) starring Elvis Presley ("At His Greatest"), Judy Tyler (who sadly died in an auto accident before the release of the film), Mickey Shaughnessy, Dean Jones, Jennifer Holden, and Anne Neyland NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Bradshaw Crandell Important Added Info: Note that we just auctioned an example of the one-sheet from this movie, with a similar image, but without the "kissing" inset image, and that poster sold for $1,905! Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster had a 4" tear in the lower right border that extended into the very bottom white area below the "k" of "Rock" below the title. It had a few small brown stains in the borders and some creases on the bottom fold. It had tiny paper loss in the left of the top blank border and paper loss in the bottom right blank corner, just below the NSS number. Someone performed amateur restoration to the above tear and the two small areas of paper loss in the blank borders without backing the poster, and they did not other restoration. The poster displays well as it is, or certainly restoration could be performed, with or without backing the poster. Learn More about condition grades
