An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) The Third Degree, the 1926 Michael Curtiz silent romantic murder mystery melodrama ("Based upon the play by Charles Klein"; about the son of a rich family who is disinherited when he marries a poor girl, and then he is the lead suspect when his father is murdered) starring Dolores Costello, Louise Dresser, Rockliffe Fellowes, Jason Robards Sr., and Myrna Loy. Note that this was Michael Curtiz's first American movie, and he did this movie in an "expressionist" manner, which made it very confusing to viewers and did not please the Warner brothers, so he switched to a more conventional style of directing! The poster had two horizontal folds across the center approximately 1" apart, but it was never folded vertically. There were creases, tears, and tiny areas of paper loss on both horizontal folds. There were creases, tears, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster, extending into the blue background area. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was quite nicely restored. The restorer re-painted much of the blue border (to "even it out"), but the poster does not have a restored look, and displays great!
