Because she was an established Broadway star before she turned to Hollywood, she was a leading star from her first movie! She is best remembered as Fran Dodsworth in the movie "Dodsworth". Some of her other movies include: Frisco Jenny, The Right To Love, Madame X (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Sarah & Son (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), and Lilly Turner. She was also a licensed pilot who flew her own plane across the country! Ruth passed away in 1961 at the age of 68. Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 7" x 9", but it does not appear to be trimmed. Note that there is a paper snipe glued on the back of the photo that describes the scene on the front (it does not affect the front of the still). Condition: very good to fine.
