An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27 1/2" x 41") (Learn More)

Little Orphan Annie, the 1938, Ben Holmes cute-girl-helps-boxer-with-his-boxing-career juvenile adventure melodrama ("Based on the Comic Strip Character by Harold Gray") starring Ann Gillis (in the title role as Little Orphan Annie), Robert Kent, June Travis, J. Farrell MacDonald, J. M. Kerrigan, and Ian Maclaren. Interestingly, there is no "Daddy Warbucks" character, and the movie does not seem to follow the comic strip very much except in that Annie is an orphan and has a cute dog; the movie concerns Annie gathering together a bunch of poor neighbors to put up the money for a boxer's career with the hope that he will become a champion and they will all hit it rich, but some local gangsters don't like that idea; there was an earlier "Little Orphan Annie" movie in 1932 with Mitzi Green, which was more faithful to the comic strip.

Condition: very good to fine. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds, pinholes in the corners, and minor fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, and looks great!
