Raymond Burr was an actor from the 1940s to the 1990s. He is best remembered for his long-running role as TV's "Perry Mason", but he had important roles in two very memorable film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters (the 1956 U.S. version) and Rear Window (in a memorable role as Thorwald, the man who may or may not have killed his wife and buried her in the courtyard). Because he lived at a time when revealing his sexuality would have ended his career, Burr kept his homosexuality secret from the general public throughout his life, but it was an open secret amongst his friends, and it was revealed after his passing in 1993 at the age of 76.

Important Added Info: Note that a paper snipe was glued to the back of the still, and then folded over to the front (the snipe tells how the image shows Burr in front of a radio satellite which will beam the special around the world!). Normally, this was done rather than gluing the snipe to the back, so that the snipe could be unfolded and the still could be displayed with the snipe unfolded, which would let moviegoers read the information on the snipe in the lobby. However, this snipe was glued on so that the written portion is only readable when the snipe is folded over the bottom of the still, which slightly defeats this purpose (although one can see the top of the still and the snipe at the same time, which could not be done if the snipe was glued on the back). This was done with many stills of the 1930s, but often, the snipes are either partially or completely lost, because it is easier for them to be torn off. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE SNIPE DOES NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON THE FRONT OF THE STILL! Note that this still is printed on Kodak paper, but we believe it to surely be an original still. Sometimes, studios would run out of stills and have extras printed on Kodak stock.
