Starting sometime in the late 1970s, both the National Screen Service and the movie studios would sometimes print posters for the same film. Both posters would have the same images and art but the studio-printed posters would lack the NSS identification information normally found at the bottom of posters printed by the National Screen Service. The poster offered here was printed by Universal, lacks full NSS information and is 100% original! This Star Wars poster (and seventeen other choice Star Wars posters that we are currently auctioning in this special auction) has a wonderful provenance! It comes to us from a man who had an older relative who worked for 20th Century-Fox in the 1970s and early 1980s, and he received many posters during the course of his job. He gave them to his young relative (our consignor), who has carefully preserved them ever since, and now, after all these years, he has given them to us to auction. So each of these posters is a guaranteed original poster, with impeccable provenance! Condition: good to very good. There are some creases scattered in various areas (especially at upper center).
