An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) White Heat, the classic 1949 Raoul Walsh romantic love triangle crime film noir ("James Cagney in His New Hit from Warner Bros."; "James Cagney is red hot in 'White Heat'"; "His New Hit from Warner Bros."; "Screen Play by Ivan Goff and Ben Roberts"; "Suggested by a Story by Virginia Kellogg"; about a psychotic killer who has frequent crippling headaches and although married, has an unnatural closeness to his aged mother) starring James Cagney (in one of his most memorable roles as Cody Jarrett; "in his new Warner hit"), Virginia Mayo (as Verna), Edmond O'Brien, Steve Cochran (as Big Ed), Fred Clark, Margaret Wycherly (unforgettable as the mother, Ma Jarrett, who really really loved her son, in her most memorable role!), John Archer, and Jim Thorpe (the legendary athlete in a cameo role!) This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It had a 3" tear and tiny paper loss in the background area just to the left of the bottom of the central box. There were creases, smudges, tears, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster, with very little wear within the image, except for the tear described above.
