An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Russian Movie Poster (measures 19 1/4" x 26" [49 x 66 cm]) (Learn More) Krokodil Gena (released in the U.S. as "Gena the Crocodile"), the 1969 Roman Kachanov Russian stop-motion animation animated cartoon family short featuring the voices of Vasiliy Livanov (in the title role as Gena), Klara Rumyanova (as Cheburashka), Vladimir Rautbart (as Shapoklyak), Vladimir Kenigson, and Tamara Dmitrieva. Note that Roman Abelevich Kachanov was a Soviet animator who worked primarily in the stop-motion animation technique. He was born in the town of Smolensk in 1921 and joined the Red Army in 1939. He was a tail gunner before being injured in a crash, and after he recovered, he served in the airborne forces as a parachute instructor and took part in special operations behind enemy lines. After he left the military, Kachanov studied animation and went on to direct The Mitten, Crocodile Gena and The Mystery of the Third Planet, all of which have become Russian classics Artist: Shartsman Important Added Info: Note that this is the first time that we have been able to offer a poster for this film, and it is the first Russian poster that we have been able to offer for any of Roman Kachanov's films! Also, note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Russian movie! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster has a few creases and tears of varying lengths (generally 1" or less but some are larger) along portions of some edges. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition.
