An Original 1947 (from the first release of this movie in France) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 43 3/4" x 63 3/4" [111 x 162 cm]) (Learn More) Second Chorus (released in France in 1947 as "Swing Romance"), the 1940 H.C. Potter singing-and-dancing musical romantic comedy (a wacky story of a college student who is in his seventh year, so that he can keep up the carefree college life while working in a band, but then he meets a pretty secretary and falls for her, and when she gets a job in Artie Shaw's band, the student quits college and he and his partner go to New York City to try to join Artie Shaw's band, so he can be with the girl!) starring Fred Astaire, Paulette Goddard, Artie Shaw and His Band, Charles Butterworth, and Burgess Meredith. Note that the plot of this movie was pretty weak, obviously just a vehicle to allow for lots of singing and dancing, but it was made even weaker by having 41 year old Fred Astaire playing a college student! But the movie is still enjoyable and entertaining, and the real life Artie Shaw and his band play themselves! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
