A Linenbacked REPRODUCTION Chinese Propaganda Poster (20" x 30 1/4") (Learn More) Mao Zedong (Mao Tse-tung) was a Chinese Communist revolutionary and politician from the 1940s to the 1970s. He was the head of the revolution that led to the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, leading the country until until he passed away in 1976 at the age of 82. His book, "Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-tung" (known in the West as "The Little Red Book") was first published in 1964, and some sources say it sold 6.5 billion copies (but no one can say for sure, although virtually every Chinese citizen had to have a copy during the 1960s!). If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of three Chinese propaganda posters of Mao Zedong we are auctioning. We do not know what the writing on the poster says, so we distinguish each of them by a "style" tag (so we and the bidders can tell the three posters apart).
