Ray Stark's The World of Suzie Wong, the 1960 Richard Quine English/U.S. Oriental Asian interracial romantic prostitution melodrama ("'You are the first man I ever loved... and the world has only just begun...'"; "Screenplay by John Patrick"; based on the novel by Richard Mason; about an American Caucasian man in love with an Asian prostitute that he can't afford) starring William Holden, Nancy Kwan (in the title role "as Suzie Wong"), Sylvia Syms, Michael Wilding, Jacqueline Chan (billed as "Jacqui Chan"), Laurence Naismith, and Yvonne Shima. Note that France Nuyen originated the role of Suzie Wong on Broadway, and was expected to play the part in the movie version, but she purportedly gained weight prior to the movie's filming, and was replaced by Nancy Kwan.
