An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Invasion of the Saucer-Men, the 1957 Edward L. Cahn science fiction (sci-fi) alien horror thriller ("Creeping Horror... From the depths of time and space!"; "See Teenagers vs. The Saucer-Men!"; "See Disembodied hand that crawls...!"; "See Night the world nearly ended...!"; "See Earth attacked by flying saucers!") starring Steven Terrell, Gloria Castillo, Raymond Hatton, Frank Gorshin, Lyn Osborn, and Russ Bender. Note that while few people have fond memories of this movie, everyone loves the wonderful posters created to advertise it, with the goofy "cabbage head" aliens holding a half-clad girl, and with great art of spaceships destroying a city! Artist: Albert Kallis Important Added Info: Note that we had only auctioned this poster three times through 2006, and the one we auctioned then sold for $5,000. In January 2017, we auctioned the bottom two-thirds of this poster, and it sold for $1,250. Now we have been consigned another complete example of the poster, which is our first complete one in 11 years! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The top section was taped or glued to the bottom large section, and there were stains along that area (see our image). The rest of the poster had some small paper loss at a few crossfolds and some small tears and tiny paper loss on just a few parts of some folds, with a few small pinholes in the blank borders, and some slight darkening and tiny tears in small parts of the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The person who backed the poster did a pretty good job on the horizontal area of staining described above, and I would think many collectors could display the poster as it is, but one could certainly have a top restorer perform additional restoration to that thin area only. Also, at some point after the poster was backed, it acquired some light brown stains in the center of the bottom excess linen, but they do not affect the poster. Learn More about condition grades
