An Original 1979 (from the first release of this movie in Poland) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Polish Movie Poster (measures 26 1/2" x 38 1/4" [67 x 97 cm]) (Learn More) Julia, the 1977 Fred Zinnemann (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) biographical melodrama ("The story of two women whose friendship suddenly became a matter of life and death."; "Based on a true story."; "Based upon the story by Lillian Hellman"; "Screenplay by Alvin Sargent"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; based on a true episode in the life of Lillian Hellman) starring Jane Fonda (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; as Lillian Hellman), Vanessa Redgrave (winner of the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Julia), Jason Robards Jr. (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Hal Holbrook, Rosemary Murphy, Maximilian Schell (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; "as Johann"), and Meryl Streep (in her second movie role!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Hanna Bodnar Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had an extra top and bottom horizontal fold 1" above and below the regular ones, with tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss scattered down the vertical fold and on the bottom crossfolds, with a lesser amount on the top and middle folds. It also had a 10" crease or tear in the upper right background area, and pinholes in the corners. It had some creases and scuffs scattered in the image, more so around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
