It was soon re-released with an "R" rating, and the posters with the "X" rating have always been more difficult to find than those with an "R" rating! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster had a snipe over the original "X" ratings box. Somebody removed it, but in the process, caused much surface paper in the right of that box and in the background area to the left of it. There were also snipes in the left and right of the upper background area, and someone removed them, causing surface paper loss in those areas. There was surface paper loss along the foldlines. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not at all distracting (and any restorer could easily touch them up without re-backing the poster).
