An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 29" x 43 1/4") (Learn More) Ladri di Biciclette (released in the U.S. in 1949 as "The Bicycle Thief" and in England as "Bicycle Thieves"), the classic 1948 Vittorio De Sica Italian neorealist melodrama ("Academy Award outstanding foreign language film 1949"; about a man and his son who search for a vital missing bicycle; most people rightfully consider this one of the handful of absolute finest movies ever made!) starring Lamberto Maggiorani, Enzo Staiola, Lianella Carell, Gino Saltamerenda, and Vittorio Antonucci. Note that the Italian title literally translates to "The Bicycle Thieves", but for unknown reasons, the movie became "The Bicycle Thief" when it was released in English-speaking countries! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had an extra horizontal foldline 1" above and below the regular top and bottom folds with a very few creases and tiny tears on parts of some foldlines. The top and bottom borders were folded back at one time and there were pinholes around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking.
