Strayer silent airplane aviation screwball comedy (about two bumbling cousins who accidentally get into the U.S. Air Corps and end up in a runaway balloon over enemy lines, and are somehow made heroes by the enemy, and sent back over the lines to spy on their own soldiers!) starring Wallace Beery, Raymond Hatton, Louise Brooks (playing twins), Russell Simpson, and Emile Chautard. Also note that in 1926, Wallace Beery and Raymond Hatton appeared in "Behind the Front", and the public loved the comic antics of this very large man with this very small man, and they went on to make a series of similar movies, including this one. They were so popular that there was also an imitation series of similar movies starring Karl Dane and George K. Arthur! Note that cult actress Louise Brooks had a small part in this movie, but she made a big impression on moviegoers! Also note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving complete copies are thought to exist (23 minutes survives in a Czechoslovakian archive). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is only one of two cards from this set that show Louise Brooks! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. There are thumb tack holes, stains, and smudges around the edges of the card, with smudges in the white background areas. There are two small stains in Beery's pants and small stains at the bottom of Hatton's jacket. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! This is the sort of card that responds really well to professional restoration. It is likely that much or all of the stains and smudges can be removed through chemical means, after which the card will look fantastic (although I think most collectors would be willing to display this great card on their wall just as it is).
