An Original Vintage Advertising Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More)

May McAvoy was an actress from the 1910s, 1920s, and again in the 1940s and 1950s. Some of her movies include: Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ (the 1925 version!), The Enchanted Cottage, The Jazz Singer, and Lady Windermere's Fan. Note that she got married and retired in 1929, and raised a son, and then returned to appear in movies in minor roles in the 1940s and 1950s. McAvoy passed away in 1984 at the age of 84. AND Lois Wilson was an actress and director from the 1910s to the 1950s. Some of her movies include: Bright Eyes, Female, Monsieur Beaucaire, Seed, Manslaughter, and The Girl from Jones Beach. She somehow managed to direct and star in a movie when she was 21, and she made a lot of movies between 1915 and 1936, retiring in 1949, and passing away in 1988 at the age of 93.

Important Added Info: This was an ad that was shown along with coming attraction glass slides between movies at a 1920s movie theater. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see!
