An Original Vintage Theatrical Chapter #14 (Smothering Tides) Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Lightning Bryce, the 1919 Paul Hurst silent treasure hunt cowboy western serial ("Arrow Film Corporation Offers The Greatest Serial Ever Made") starring Ann Little, Jack Hoxie (in the title role as Lightning Bryce), Yakima Canutt, George Champion, Steve Clemente, Ben Corbett, George Hunter, Slim Lucas, Walter Patterson, and Paul Hurst. Note that Jack Hoxie had appeared in movies for several years prior to this one (he was a rodeo star who started as a stunt man, and graduated to supporting roles), but this was his first real starring role as the central hero of the movie (he was born John Stone, but he had previously been billed as "Hartford Hoxie", but this movie was the first where he was billed as "Jack Hoxie", the name he would keep the rest of his career). Also note that the villain of the movie is played by the director, Paul Hurst! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
