An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Dangerous Years, the 1948 Arthur Pierson juvenile delinquent kids crime thriller ("Story and Screenplay by Arnold Belgard") starring Billy Halop (billed as "William Halop"), Ann Todd (billed as "Ann E. Todd"), Scotty Beckett, Jerome Cowan, Richard Gaines, Anabel Shaw, and Marilyn Monroe (her very first movie, and she is unbilled on the posters, and only appears on the half-sheet, a scene card, and the title card!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that Marilyn Monroe did not receive billing (not surprising since she had a minor role in this, her first movie), but she IS pictured on this title card! Also note that we have only auctioned two examples of this title card, and both of those were twelve years ago! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The card had tears and paper loss scattered down the right edge, slightly affecting the background in the middle right. It had pinholes, small tears, and tiny paper loss in the other borders. It had a tiny pen mark on Marilyn's cheek and some smudges and scuffs scattered throughout the image. Overall, the card was in fair to good condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the card (meaning they backed the card onto a gel material) and they then performed restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the card still looks and feels like an original card (and it is!), with no backing at all. Given the card's defects described above, the restorer did a pretty good job, but you can see signs of the defects and the restoration, but the card displays pretty well (see our super-sized images to get a good sense of exactly how the card looks now).
