An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 29 1/2" x 43") (Learn More) Leise Flehen Meine Lieder (literally translates to "My Songs Plead Softly"), the 1933 Willi Forst Austrian/German romantic musical biography ("Music by Franz Schubert") starring Martha Eggerth, Luise Ullrich, Hans Jaray (as Franz Schubert), Hans Moser (the most famous Austrian actor of his time), Otto Tressler, Hans Olden, and Lisl Reisch. Note that this was a highly fictionalized biography of composer Franz Schubert, and it adds a romantic section that we are not sure was based on fact. In 1934, the two leads of this movie the two leads reprised their roles in an English language version, "Unfinished Symphony", with an English and U.S. supporting cast, including Helen Chandler. That movie was released in the U.S. in 1935, with the new title "Lover Divine", and Helen Chandler was top billed, no doubt because she was well known to U.S. audiences from "Dracula" and other movies. Movie paper from this German version and the U.S. version can be easily confused, since both movies have the same two leads! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
