An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Stock One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

a circa 1940s "stock" poster created by 20th Century Fox for use by theaters showing re-releases of their 1930s and 1940s Laurel & Hardy movies in 1940s. Theaters would order this poster, which had a large blank area at the bottom. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie, and sometimes they sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been neatly over-printed in the blank area at bottom so it could be used for Laurel & Hardy's 1944 comedy, "The Big Noise"!

Condition: good. The poster has become somewhat brittle with age and there is much tattering and some separation along the foldlines and edges (most repaired with tape from the back).
