An Original Vintage Paper Doll Sheet (measures 8 1/2" x 11 1/2" [22 x 29 cm]) (Learn More) Mary Pickford was a Canadian actress from the 1900s to the 1930s. She was one of the top silent actresses, who specialized in playing young girl roles as an adult, and she was called "America's Sweetheart", and when she married Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. in 1920, the country rejoiced (and the country mourned when they divorced in 1936!). Some of her movies include: Little Annie Rooney (in the title role), Sparrows, My Best Girl, Coquette (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role), and Tess of the Storm Country. She passed away in 1979 at the age of 87. Important Added Info: Note that in the 1910s, Photoplay magazine started having a page called "Movy-Dols", which had an image of a famous star with images different outfits and accessories, and readers could cut out the individual figures and then use them as paper dolls for their children to play with (likely first mounting them onto a backing board). This later evolved into the very popular paper doll books of the 1930s on. We have never auctioned any of these "Movy-Dols" pages before we were consigned this one with Mary Pickford! Condition: good to very good. The page was removed from the magazine. It is darkened and fragile around the edges, with creases and tiny paper loss in the top corners, but images to be cut out are barely affected by the defects. Learn More about condition grades
