An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Mexican Movie Poster (measures 27 3/4" x 37 1/2" [70 x 95 cm]) (Learn More) Orphee (released in the U.S. as "Orpheus"), the classic 1950 Jean Cocteau French romantic fantasy (re-telling the classic fable of Orpheus and Eurydice, but set in modern day France, about how a man does not let even Death separate him from his beloved) starring Jean Marais (in the title role as Orphee/Orpheus), Francois Perier (as Heurtebise), Maria Casares (likely best remembered for her role as Death in this movie, where she played all her scenes with her eyes closed and with "eyes" painted over her eyelids!), Marie Dea (as Eurydice), Henri Cremieux, Greco, Roger Blin, and Edouard Dermithe NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. There are tiny areas of paper loss scattered throughout the poster. Note that this Mexican poster is somewhat fragile! Mexican posters were printed on a paper stock that often ages very poorly, and also darkens. This poster has darkened somewhat and is more fragile along the foldlines (but of course, any talented restorer could linenback the poster, after which it would look great).
