She was one of the top silent actresses, who specialized in playing young girl roles as an adult, and she was called "America's Sweetheart", and when she married Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. in 1920, the country rejoiced (and the country mourned when they divorced in 1936!). Some of her movies include: Little Annie Rooney (in the title role), Sparrows, My Best Girl, Coquette (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role), and Tess of the Storm Country. She passed away in 1979 at the age of 87. AND Hedda Hopper (now known solely as a newspaper columnist) was an actress from the 1910s to the 1960s. Some of her movies include: The Women, Wings, Topper, Nothing Sacred, and Midnight. In the 1930s, she became a very famous newspaper columnist writing about Hollywood, and she became famous for wearing outrageous hats. She passed away in 1966 at the age of 80. Important Added Info: Note that during World War II, Mary Pickford kindly opened her Pickford estate to soldiers, who came to visit, and Hedda Hopper also attended the event. These candid photos were taken during that event. Note that one of the photos has a great oil painting on the wall of Mary Pickford when she was in a movie in the 1910s. Condition: very good. Each of the stills has some creases around the edges (more so in the one at upper left). They are otherwise in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
