An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Black Friday, the 1940 Arthur Lubin Universal mad scientist crime murder horror thriller (a wild story of a mad scientist, played by Boris Karloff, whose friend is badly injured in a car crash by a gangster who is fatally wounded, and the scientist is able to save his friend by transplanting part of the brain of the dead gangster into his friend's brain!; unfortunately, his friend then takes on both his own personality and that of the dead gangster, and he becomes a "Jekyll & Hyde", and when he is the gangster, he is seeking revenge against his gang members, including Bela Lugosi in a surprisingly minor role!) starring Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Stanley Ridges, Anne Nagel, Anne Gwynne, and James Craig. Note that Universal incredibly deceptively advertised this movie! The movie was pre-sold as a Karloff/Lugosi film even though Lugosi only has a small part. They gave Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi equal top billing, and the one-sheet has large head shots of both stars, and poor Stanley Ridges, who was actually the star of the movie, is not even pictured on the poster, although they found room for an image of Anne Nagel! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still has a stamp on the back that indicates it came from the legendary horror/sci-fi collection of Ron Borst (the stamp reads "FROM THE COLLECTION OF Ronald V. Borst")! Also note that this is one of a truly incredible group of 15 horror stills we were just consigned, which we are auctioning in 15 separate auctions! They were assembled by a very longtime collector in the 1960s, and he has kept them all these years! Several of them are truly "as good as it gets", and they are all first release stills, including ones from Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, and more! This is an incredible opportunity to purchase one or more of these wonderful stills, and it may be many years before we ever offer some or any of them again! Condition: good. There are three punch holes in the top border, with paper loss at each hole (that is likely because this was once in a "key book"). There are two areas of surface paper loss in the top border and someone performed amateur touch up to those areas. Learn More about condition grades
