An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Lady at Midnight, the 1948 Sam Newfield (billed as "Sherman Scott") Pathe crime film noir ("The Prize...one million dollars! The Pawn...and innocent child! The Price...cold, brutal, Murder!"; "The clock ticked off Murder At Midnight"; "This child is worth a million dollars ... If they live to spend it!"; "Screenplay and Original Story by Richard Sale"; about a couple who adopt a child, not knowing she is the heiress to a fortune, but then a murder gets them involved) starring Richard Denning, Frances Rafferty, Lora Lee Michel, Ralph Dunn, Nana Bryant, and Jack Searle. Note that Lora Lee Michel, who played the adopted child in this movie, had a very unusual personal life! This was her first movie, made at 8 years old, and she herself was adopted, and her birth mother tried to regain custody of her, but lost. She made twelve movies in two years and then ran away from her adoptive parents, saying that they had beaten her and forced her to make movies! The judge let them keep custody of her, but only when they let her "retire", and they moved back to Texas where they were from, and Miss Michel only had a few more acting roles. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. There are some tack holes scattered throughout the poster (mostly around the edges). Learn More about condition grades
