An Original 1961 (from the first release of this movie in the U.S.) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked English One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 39 1/4" [69 x 100 cm]) (Learn More) Il Mondo di Motte (released in the U.S. in 1962 as "World By Night"), the 1960 Luigi Vanzi Italian mondo around-the-world sexy entertainment documentary ("The Super-Show of Shows! From ballet to strip-tease... A breath-taking galaxy of the most celebrated cabaret and night-club performers of New York, Paris, Las Vegas, Berlin, Tokyo, Hamburg, Hong Kong, London, Copenhagen, Hollywood, Honolulu, Blackpool"; "This Is It! The sensation filled motion picture that has smashed all records all over Europe! IT'S Fantasterrfic! Over two hours of entertainment with the most celebrated cabaret and night club acts in the world"; "From Ballet To Burlesque"about the "Greatest Night Club Shows on Earth!"; "For the price of a cinema ticket - a fabulous tour of the greatest night club shows on earth!") featuring Wee Willie Harris, Gualtiero Jacopetti (as the Italian narrator), George Sanders (as the English narrator), Belinda Lee, and Ricky Renee. Note that this was one of the approximately 100 "sexy nocturne" mondo style documentaries that were produced between 1959 and 1970, mainly in Italy. They are documentaries that include segments of strippers, which allowed them to include nudity that had formerly only been seen in nudist movies. The strippers are shown performing their acts, and there was an attempt to film them artistically. Most of these films contain one or more of the words "world", "night", "sexy", "girls", etc. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This English one-sheet was printed in Italy to be used in England, because Italy had cheaper, better printing at that time, even with the shipping expense (it has "Printed in Italy - Vechionni & Guadagno" at the bottom), and it is entirely in English. Also note also that star Wee Willie Harris (a black African-American entertainer) is prominently pictured on this English one-sheet, but that he was nowhere to be seen on the posters for the U.S. release of this movie! Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had creases and tiny scuffs along some foldlines and some minor border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, and looks great! Learn More about condition grades
