His childhood was unhappy, and he ran away to join the circus, where his future partner Harry Kellar also performed. Thurston was deeply impressed after he attended magician Alexander Herrmann's magic show and was determined to equal his work. He eventually became one of the most famous magician of his time, and his traveling magic show was so large that it needed eight train cars to transport his road show. Hr passed away in 1936 at the age of 66. Important Added Info: We have provided an image of each side of the card, which is printed on a heavy paper stock. We don't know what it was used for or how it was distributed. Condition: good. The card was glued to an album page, and when it was removed, it caused much surface paper loss on the back of the card (which had the same image as the front). So one side is ruined, but the other side displays well (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
