An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Smart Blonde, the 1936 Frank McDonald crime comedy thriller ("The Adventures of Torchy Blane"; the first of a series of movies with the same main character) starring Glenda Farrell (as Torchy Blane), Barton MacLane, Wini Shaw (often billed as "Winifred Shaw", she was actually born "Wini Lei Momi", and she was of Hawaiian and Irish descent, certainly an unusual combination!), Addison Richards, and Jane Wyman. Note that this first Torchy Blane movie starred Glenda Farrell in the lead role. There were a total of nine Torchy Blane movies. Farrell played the lead in seven of them. In two of the ones near the end of the series, Jane Wyman and Lola Lane filled in for Farrell, perhaps because she had other commitments. The series only lasted for two years, but was quite popular.
