An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Macbeth, the 1948 Orson Welles epic tragedy ("A notable motion picture achievement!"; based on the classic play by William Shakespeare) starring Orson Welles (in the title role as MacBeth), Jeanette Nolan (billed as "introducing Jeanette Nolan"; as Lady Macbeth), Dan O'Herlihy (as Macduff), Roddy McDowall (as Malcolm), Edgar Barrier (as Banquo), Alan Napier, and John Dierkes NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. This poster was linenbacked, and it had fairly significant defects which were somewhat repaired during the linenbacking process (we describe both the defects as well as the quality of the restoration below). You should also look at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). the poster had tears, creases, and small areas of paper loss around the edges. There was a fairly large hole in the top right corner, but fortunately it was entirely in the white area. There was paper loss at the crossfolds and creases and tears along the foldlines. The poster was very nicely linenbacked, and you really can't see signs of the above defects, which were primarily in the borders and in background areas. The poster looks quite nice!
