An Original Vintage 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Still (Learn More)

Roy D'Arcy was an actor from the 1920s and 1930s. Some of his movies include: Revolt of the Zombies, The Merry Widow, La Boheme (the 1926 version), and Berdelys the Magnificent. He passed away in 1969 at the age of 75 AND John Gilbert was an actor from the 1910s to the 1930s. Some of his movies include: The Big Parade, The Merry Widow, and many other major MGM movies of the 1920s and early 1930s. He co-starred with Greta Garbo in several memorable movies. There is an urban legend that his career was ruined because he had a squeaky high-pitched voice, but actually that was not the case! Gilbert refused to follow the studio head Louis B. Mayer's orders, and he essentially ruined his career, although Garbo insisted he be allowed to co-star with her in Queen Christina, but his career was basically over after that, and he died of a heart attack in 1936 at the age of 38 AND Ramon Novarro was a major Mexican star from the 1910s to the 1930s. He was an extra until starring in The Prisoner of Zenda in 1922, for which he was paid $125 a week. Three years later, he was one of Hollywood's biggest stars, and he earned $10,000 a week for starring in his most famous role, 1925's Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ. He survived the coming of sound, but his popularity declined greatly after a few sound movies, and he mostly retired. Some of his other movies include: The Student Prince in Old Heidelberg, The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and The Big Steal. Sadly, in 1968, he was beaten to death by two punks who invaded his Hollywood home thinking he had a large amount of cash hidden away (he did not!). He was 69 years old.

Condition: fair to good. There are many tiny dot stains scattered in the right of the still, with creases and tears around the edges, and some tape repairs on the back of some tears.
