Note that David Lean had shot Lawrence of Arabia in "Super Panavision 70", which was a 70mm process, and of course, that movie was a great success. He wanted to shoot this movie the exact same way, but MGM refused, and it was shot in "regular" 35mm Panavision. There are some English posters that were printed with "Super Panavision" on them, but the "Super" is blacked over on them (and the first release U.S. posters have solely "Panavision" on them). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. Each has creasing, smudging, and several pairs of staple holes in the borders (some extend into the edges of the image). Some of the cards have a few tiny tears in the borders. Card #1 (Chaplin in Blue, Sharif at left, Christie at righ. Note that it is extremely time-consuming to individually describe the condition of each lobby card in a set of eight. Because of the large number of sets we sell, we will only note more significant defects in each individual card. We will NOT note every tiny border tear, stain, or pinhole. We provide an overview of the general condition of the cards above.
