5j0259 I'LL SELL MY LIFE Japanese 1954 Hobart, Whalen, completely different crime art, ultra rare!

An Original 1954 (from the first release of this movie in Japan) Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Japanese "B2" Movie Poster (measures 20 1/2" x 28 3/4" [51 x 73 cm]) (Learn More)

I'll Sell My Life, the 1941 Elmer Clifton romantic crime blackmail melodrama (a wacky story about a woman whose brother needs an eye operation that costs $20,000 or he will go blind, and she kind of offers to "sell her life" in order to get the money) starring Rose Hobart, Michael Whalen, Stanley Fields, Joan Woodbury, Roscoe Ates, and Robert Walker. Note that the Robert Walker credited above was NOT the Robert Walker who starred in the 1940s and 1950s, but a different Robert Walker who started making movies in 1913, and he appeared in an amazing 255 movies through 1953, a 40 year span, but most of those were westerns, and a lot of them were very minor roles, often uncredited.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning!

UPDATED 08/17/2020: Note that the first release year for this film in Japan was 1954, and not 1941 as the auction originally mentioned. This poster is from the 1954 first release.

Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has creases and tiny tears along portions of some edges but there are some larger tears in the center of the right edge (see our image). There is a partial horizontal crease at upper right and there are some smudges at upper left in the art (likely caused by the printing process). It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and after a simple linenbacking the rare poster will look great!
