Note that Burke and Hare were an incredibly notorious pair of English grave robbers who sold the bodies to doctors for medical experimentation! It was a major scandal in England, and their story has spawned many, many movies, including 1945's "The Body Snatcher" starring Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi.
