An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman, the 1958 Nathan Juran (billed as "Nathan Hertz") science fiction (sci-fi) giant female monster horror thriller starring Allison Hayes (in the title role as the 50 foot woman), William Hudson, Yvette Vickers, Roy Gordon, George Douglas, and Otto Waldis. Note that the posters for this movie have wonderful Reynold Brown artwork of a giant scantily clad woman standing over a highway, and it is rightly regarded as one of the finest poster images of the 1950s. One wishes one could say the same about the movie itself, but alas, that is not true! But the poster for this movie is surely one of the most memorable ever created! Artist: Reynold Brown Important Added Info: Note that this is a completely unrestored one-sheet (no repair or tape of any kind), and it has likely never been displayed (see below). This is especially surprising, because this is one of the most popular 1950s horror/sci-fi images ever, and surely many existing examples were displayed on fans' walls from 1958 through the 1970s, when the value of the poster was not that high. Many of those were likely ripped off the walls and discarded when the owners moved, and the ones that weren't surely had varying degrees of fading, tears, tape stains, etc. Surely the ones of those that did survive were mostly all linenbacked to repair the above defects. So the question is, how many examples of this poster still survive at all, and how many of them are linenbacked, and how many of them have no tape or restoration of any kind, and how many of those are in anywhere near as wonderful condition as this poster is? I would bet the answer is next to none, making THIS example of this great poster all the more wonderful and desirable to collectors everywhere! Condition: very good to fine. The poster was almost certainly never used, because it has a "crispness" that a folded poster quickly loses when it has been opened and folded several times. The paper is exceptionally white and the colors exceptionally bright, also indicating that the poster was never displayed. There is no paper loss or separation at the crossfolds, also indicating it was almost never opened. The only defects it has are some creases and tiny brown stains scattered in the right edge of the right blank border, and also a tiny brown dot stain in the left edge of the upper left border, with a similar one in the upper middle of the left border, and a tiny area of brown staining in the lower left blank border (see our super-sized image for the exact location and size of these). Certainly, any restorer could easily remove these tiny stains in the edges of the left and right blank borders, but I would think the vast majority of collectors would prefer to leave this wonderful poster just as it is!
