An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22") (Learn More) Swing Time, the 1936 George Stevens romantic love triangle musical dancing comedy ("With six new haunting melodies by Jerome Kern composer of 'Roberta'"; "Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers in the captivating climax of their gay young lives!..."; about a man and woman who are supposed to marry others, but they end up falling in love with each other) starring Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Victor Moore, Helen Broderick, Eric Blore, Betty Furness, Georges Metaxa, and Dennis O'Keefe. Note that this was one of the nine wonderful movies that Astaire and Rogers made between 1933 and 1939 (they made one final movie, "The Barkleys of Broadway", thirteen years later in 1949). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The card had its blank top trimmed off and it had been folded in half across the original middle and there were creases along that foldline. There were some tears and areas of paper loss around the edges of the card (slightly extending into the edges of the image) and some faint smudges scattered in the card. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. At some point after the card was backed, it was roughly handled, and there is now a 2" tear in the top right corner of the image area. Learn More about condition grades
