Bats in the Belfry, the 1942 Rudolf Ising & Jerry Brewer animated animation cartoon comedy short ("An MGM cartoon in Technicolor"; with music by Scott Bradley; this was a "one-shot" MGM cartoon, concerning a trio of bats that lived in an attic and musically explained why they are associated with being crazy) featuring the voice of Pinto Colvig (in the title roles as Bats). Note that "Bats in the Belfry" was a common expression at the time this movie was made to indicate that a person was crazy. Also note that at this time, MGM made several "one-shot" cartoons, and if the characters proved very popular, they would bring them back in future cartoons, and sometimes give them their own series. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
