An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 29" x 43 1/2") (Learn More) Jailhouse Rock, the classic 1957 Richard Thorpe rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) crime prison romantic musical ("His first big dramatic singing role!"; about a young man who is sent to prison for manslaughter, and while there he is helped to become a singer/musician by an older convict, and after he is released, he becomes a major rock star!) starring Elvis Presley ("At His Greatest"), Judy Tyler (who sadly died in an auto accident before the release of the film), Mickey Shaughnessy, Dean Jones, Jennifer Holden, and Anne Neyland NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this Argentinean poster measures 29" x 43 1/2" and that it is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). very good. There was an oval of pen writing on the back of the poster on the right of the poster in Elvis' shoulder that is slightly visible from the front, but it is truly not distracting. There were creases and tiny paper loss along the top half of the vertical foldline and across the top horizontal foldline. There were minor border defects. The poster was pretty well restored, as from any distance away the defects are not noticeable! Learn More about condition grades
