McLeod college football sports mistaken identity slapstick comedy ("The 4 Marx Brothers"; Groucho is the dean of a college, and he tries to hire two "ringers", professional football players, to help the college win their big game, but he mistakenly hires Harpo and Chico instead, and meanwhile, Zeppo is Groucho's son, who is busy romancing the "college widow", memorably played by Thelma Todd) starring the Marx Brothers (Groucho, Harpo, Chico, and Zeppo), Thelma Todd, David Landau, Nat Pendleton, Robert Greig, Florine McKinney, and Jim Pierce NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned four scene cards from this movie, one of which was heavily trimmed, and the last one was 8 years ago! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The card had its top 1/2" roughly folded back at one time. It had two tears near the middle of the left and right border, with some tiny pinholes in the corners and a few tiny tears in the rest of the borders. Other than the creasing across the top 1/2" of the card, the image area was in surprisingly nice condition. Overall, the card was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. Someone many years ago backed the card onto a linen backing with no excess, but did restoration to the horizontal crease at the top of the card, where there was slight surface paper loss, but otherwise did no restoration.
