An Original 1958 Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Liane, das Madchen aus dem Urwald (released in the U.S. in 1958 as "Liane, Jungle Goddess"), the 1956 Eduard von Borsody German sexploitation romantic jungle adventure thriller ("This is LIANE... A lost child who became a savage queen of a black jungle!"; "Beautiful and Proud... Yet more savage than the black jungle she ruled!"; "She fought Lust with the Clawing Fury of a Tormented Tigress"; "Sleek and Cunning as a Jungle Animal"; "SEE this incredible beauty, supreme ruler of a seething jungle empire!"; "SEE the jungle goddess fight with the clawing fury of a tormented tigress"; "SEE frantic men try to subdue this untouchable beauty!") starring Marion Michael (in the title role as Liane; "Germany's answer to Brigitte Bardot"), Hardy Kruger, Adrian Hoven, Friedrich Joloff, Rik Battaglia, Rolf von Nauckhoff, Irene Galter, Peter Mosbacher, Reinhard Kolldehoff, and Rudolf Forster. Note that this movie was made in Germany in 1956, when star Marion Michael was just 16, and yet she had nude scenes, and appeared virtually nude on the posters! The movie was not released in the U.S. until over two years later. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a REALLY weird title card! It has been censored in three areas, which in itself is not all that odd (although they painted over the girl's butt in two places, and they weren't all that revealing, and they also added some extra hair at left to cover her bust), but what is REALLY strange is that all previous examples of this card we have had have a tagline box in the lower right, but THIS card actually had an image of Michaels on the ground fighting off Hardy Kruger (the entire image was painted over, but you can slightly see through it)! So the only answer we can imagine is that the card originally was printed this way, but that it created such negative publicity that they did a new print run with the tagline box (or perhaps they simply put the tagline box there to show what great reviews the movie was getting!). In either case however, this is the rare first version of this card (but of course, it does have major censoring), as seen in our image. Condition: fair. There are four areas of censor paint on the card as described above. There is light staining down the right side of the card and a tape stain in the center of the left blank border.
