An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Svengali (released in Germany as "Trilby"), the 1931 Archie Mayo hypnotism mind control romantic love triangle fantasy melodrama ("Based on the novel by George Louis Du Maurier") starring John Barrymore (in the title role as Svengali), Marian Marsh (as Trilby O'Farrell), Donald Crisp, Bramwell Fletcher, and Carmel Myers. Note that leading lady Marian Marsh was just 17 years old when this movie was made (John Barrymore had a habit of having extremely young female co-stars).

Important Added Info: Note that first release 1931 movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only auctioned four lobby cards from this movie, but none in the last 12 years, until we received this great portrait lobby card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. There are brown stains in the left and top blank borders and a lesser amount in the other two blank borders. Otherwise, the card is in wonderful condition. It can be displayed as it is, with a mat covering the blank borders, or of course, it would be simple for any talented restorer to remove the stains (either with or without backing the card).
