A 1949 Re-release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Lone Texas Ranger, the 1945 Spencer Gordon Bennet (billed as "Spencer Bennet") Red Ryder cowboy western (based on the comic strip characters by Fred Harman) starring William 'Wild Bill' Elliott ("as Red Ryder"), Robert 'Bobby' Blake (as Little Beaver), Alice Fleming, Roy Barcroft, Helen Talbot, Tom Chatterton, and Rex Lease NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "stock" poster created by Republic Pictures for use by theaters showing re-releases of their 1940s Wild Bill Elliot Red Ryder movies in 1949. Theaters would order this poster, which had a large blank rectangle at center. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie, and sometimes they sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. Sometimes stock posters are found with blank snipe areas. Most collectors consider them more valuable with a printed snipe attached, or with an overprinted snipe area. Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and creases, scuffs, and tiny tears in the vertical foldline between the middle and bottom crossfolds, and minor wear on the other folds and in the borders.
