An Original Vintage Special Movie Poster (measures 14" x 17" [36 x 43 cm]) (Learn More) Tempest, the 1928 Sam Taylor Russia Revolution-era romantic melodrama (about a Russian military officer who has an affair with a noblewoman, and she rejects him and has him thrown in prison, but after the Revolution, he is freed from prison and is put in charge of the Red Army, and he is supposed to execute his former lover, but instead he runs off to Europe with her) starring John Barrymore, Camilla Horn, Louis Wolheim, Boris de Fast, and George Fawcett NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Charles W. Pancoast Important Added Info: Note that this special poster looks like it is a jumbo lobby card, but actually, it was a 15 3/4" x 23 1/2" special poster that was trimmed and it now measures 14" x 17" [36 x 43 cm]. The original poster had "JOHN BARRYMORE IN THE TEMPEST" printed in the bottom center, with two small artwork scenes in the lower left and lower right. Obviously, the theater that had this wanted to display it like a jumbo lobby card, so they trimmed it to be that size. Please do not bid on this item unless you can accept that it has been trimmed and is missing the credits that were originally at the bottom. Condition: fair. The poster was trimmed from a larger size (see above). The part that remains (which is a wonderful art portrait of Barrymore) is in pretty good condition. Learn More about condition grades
