Hellman") Italian sexploitation romantic melodrama starring Emanuelle Arsan, Al Cliver, Orsa Maria Guerrini, Annie Belle (in the title role as Laure/Emanuelle), Pierre Haudebourg, and Michele Starck. Note that Emmanuelle Arsan was a French novelist of Thai origin, best known for the novel featuring the fictional character Emmanuelle. It was later claimed that the real author of the book was her husband, French diplomat Louis-Jacques Rollet-Andriane. Also, after the success of the 1974 film Emmanuelle, many authorized sequels were created. The success also spawned many "knock-off" Emmanuelle films, which included the name Emmanuelle or its variants in their titles for exploitative reasons, but were not connected to the original series.
