An Unfolded German Travel Poster (measures 23 3/4" x 33" [60 x 84 cm]) (Learn More)

The Hamburg-Amerikanische Packetfahrt-Actien-Gesellschaft (HAPAG for short and referred to in English as Hamburg America Line or Hamburg-American Line) was a transatlantic shipping enterprise established in Hamburg, Germany in 1847. It soon developed into the largest German (and at times the world's largest) shipping company, serving the market created by the German immigration to the United States and later immigration from Eastern Europe. In 1970, after 123 years of independent existence, HAPAG merged with the Bremen-based North German Lloyd to form Hapag-Lloyd AG.
Artist: J.A. Krause
Important Added Info: Note that this poster is encouraging people to take a cruise to the North during the hot months of June, July and August, and features an image of two cruise ships in a fjord.

Condition: good to very good. The poster has a plastic piece taped to the back (see our image - it was meant to help display the poster) and there was a strip of plastic tape on the back of that upper blank border that slightly bleeds through to the front. There is small blank paper loss at upper right and there is minor writing at lower left. It is otherwise in generally nice condition.
