An Unfolded French War Poster (measures 34" x 48" [86 x 122 cm]) (Learn More) Populations Abandonnees, Faites Confiance au Soldat Allemand (literally translates to "Abandoned People, Trust the German Soldier"), the 1940 French World War II (WWII) poster created by the Nazi German-occupying forces to encourage civilians to accept the German soldiers, and featuring Theo Matejko art of a Wehrmacht soldier holding a young boy who is eating food while two girls look on in envy, implying that the Nazis will take good care of the war orphans left behind by their attacks! Note that Theo Matejko was an Austrian illustrator from the 1920s to the 1940s. He joined the National Socialist Party in 1933 and was involved in designing posters for the 1936 Olympics. He later became one of the official artists of Nazi propaganda. Artist: Theo Matejko Condition: very good to fine. The poster was never folded.
