Appears in Vintage Hollywood Posters 6 CATALOG SOLD OUT The image at right appears in the auction catalog we published as shown above and was sold long ago and we do NOT have it available for purchase. Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Casper, the 1950 Paramount stock animated animation cartoon poster ("Color by Technicolor Produced by Famous Studios"). Note that this is a "stock" poster created by Paramount in for use for all entries of their "Casper" series. This particular stock poster was printed in 1950. Theaters would order this poster, and display it when they showed a Casper cartoon (unlike many stock posters, this one has full great art, with no blank space for a snipe indicating the title of a specific short). Note that Casper is the rare case of a cartoon character that was NOT based on a comic strip or comic book character. There was a book with Casper in it published in 1939, but it was not hugely successful, and in 1945, Paramount purchased the rights to that character, and created the character we all know today (in the original book, he scared people, but in the 1945 cartoon, he was a "friendly ghost"). Casper had much success in Paramount's Noveltoons, and later many Harvey comics were published starring Casper and many of his friends. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good to fine. tiny separation at the top two crossfolds and 1" of separation (with the tiniest paper loss at the bottom crossfold); a 1/2" tear (with tiny paper loss in the bottom foldline in the background area 2" away from Casper; there are several barely noticeable, very tiny pinholes in each corner, and a few around the edges of the image, but they are truly not noticeable and difficult to see even at a close distance!; The above is truly nitpicking! The poster is in really nice unrestored condition (there is not a piece of tape anywhere on the poster), and its defects are extremely minor. While most collectors would certainly be happy with it just as it is, the minor defects would completely vanish if it were linenbacked and the poster would look perfect!
